Each fly lead comes with connectors on each end, one push fit style for the bottom of the water fed pole and one anti snag pole hose adapter for the water supply hose.

Foamion is the little brother to the Thermion™ system. Thermion™ is dual purpose, and is used for Weedkilling and Soft Washing, whereas Foamion™ is primarily a Soft Wash System.

Foamion™ is a cost effective add-on machine and it works in conjunction with your existing Ionic Reach & Wash® System. 

Foamion™ gives the operative the option to mix any chemical product, i.e. Sodium Hypochlorite and Biocides at the point of use. This is a perfect way to apply treatments for algae infestations on render or plastics. Foamion™ can used to treat moss on roof tiles or apply black spot remover for patios, paths or driveways.

Foam Cleaning

Applying treatments as a foam has multiple benefits, as it gives a longer contact dwell time on a surface. The air infused mix of chemical and water, promotes activation and allows the chemical to work to it’s optimum performance. Chemical activation is further amplified when mixed with hot pure water up to to 60°C from a Thermopure™ system.

A chemical mixed with air and heat is super charged and becomes even more powerful and vigorous, meaning a reduction in the amount of chemical used per application to achieve the desired result. When the chemical is applied as a foam it significantly reduces water usage and the risk of over-spray and run off. 

The Foamion™ system can be retro fitted and paired with many existing van installations. Foamion™ takes a pumped water feed from the existing Reach & Wash® system, which enters through a non-return valve, this eliminates the risk of any chemical contamination of the pure water system and delivery pumps, so window cleaning results are unaffected.

Having the Foamion™ operate in this way, allows a chemical feed and pure water to be applied at the same time, allowing operatives to soft wash and window clean simultaneously. The Foamion™ is a battery powered unit, so it can be used self-contained like a Reach & Wash® System.

Hydra is a lightweight but strong pole platform that window cleaners can configure based upon their specific needs. Therefore just like the mythical Greek serpent Ionic’s Hydra™️ pole is available with a number of head options.

Weight Savings

The first thing you notice about the Hydra™️ pole is just how light it is. Ionic has really focused on weight reduction and have reduced the wall thickness of every pole section, resulting in significant weight savings and maintained rigidity. Narrow handles provide a more comfortable grip. In order to achieve Ionic's lightest ever pole, every component came under scrutiny, with weight savings being made on nearly every part, from clamps to levers.

One Finger Operation Clamps

The second thing you notice are the next generation clamps on the Hydra™️ pole, with slick one finger operation and adjustment these clamps feature patent pending spring assisted release to reduce tube section wear. In addition, the clamps are carefully crafted to ensure tight closure time after time,  year after year.

Protector™️ Handle as Standard

The final thing you notice is that every Hydra™️ pole comes standard with Ionic’s unique Protector handle. The only waterfed pole to meet the British Standard for electrical safety is available to you at no extra cost. It seems that there is barely a month that goes by without news of a window cleaner electrocuted at work. Whilst safer than ladders Ionic believes that waterfed poles should be a no-risk alternative. 

Important: A Special Note About the Protector Handle

The bottom section of the pole is the only section that is double insulated, giving protection up to 1000 volts. If the operator uses it in proximity of a higher voltage, there is a risk of it jumping from the carbon sections and electrocuting the operator. It is absolutely essential that the operator or supervisor does a risk assessment prior to undertaking work using this pole. In areas of greater electrocution risk we recommend using a fully fiber glass pole up to 30ft.

This means you can select your preferred head and brush assembly, and benefit from the numerous features that are standard on the Hydra™️ pole range, including; light weights, compact sizes, next generation clamps, tubeless storage, protective handle and water-flow shut off.

*Hydra Grafter Pole only fits with the 12 inch grafter brush. If you want a larger sized brush, you will need a different pole.

Combined with wear resistant telescopic tubes, Ionic’s patent pending spring assisted pole clamps ensures smooth action, whilst minimizing wear in the pole sections. While other designs insure that poles remain clamped as the section wears, our focus was to engineer out factors that contribute to pole tube wear in the first place. Hydra™️ is a tubeless pole, making it neat and tidy when storing in your van. The pole hose, known as a fly lead, is stored on your hose reel when not in use. Choosing the correct fly lead for your Hydra™️ is dependent on how it is going to be used. For example, if you have one 32ft Hydra™️ then you will require a 16 meter fly lead. But if you have multiple size poles then you only need to have a fly lead to fit your longest pole, so if you had a 32ft and a 55ft Hydra, a 22 meter fly lead would cover both poles.

*If you have more than one operator then a fly lead per hose reel will be required.

Vertigo Quick Release allows the operator to easily remove the Brush Head and replace it with the Vertigo Moerman Tool Adapter; therefore, enabling a range of Moerman hand tools to be used. Examples are a window mop, a squeegee, or a scraper, among others.

You'll need to choose pole length, pole construction (material) and size brush. All Vertigo™️ Quick Release poles come standard with a Vertigo Neck in one of three sizes (6 inch, 9 inch or 15 inch). Don't worry, we've pre-matched these necks to the length of the pole you choose.  The water flows through the angle crank, preventing any exposed tubing outside the pole.

Brushes are commercial grade and available in 14 in. and 18 in. sizes with Rinse Bar with Pencil Jets as standard.

There are three small options available not listed in the drop-down menu. You can optionally substitute Fan Jets (instead of Pencil Jets). Also you can choose a Flocked Brush if you intend on cleaning cladding or delicate surface cleaning. Lastly you can choose a Lightweight Brush (less bristles to lighten overall head weight).

Protector™️ Handle as Standard

The final thing you notice is that every Hydra™️ pole comes standard with Ionic’s unique Protector handle. The only waterfed pole to meet the British Standard for electrical safety is available to you at no extra cost. It seems that there is barely a month that goes by without news of a window cleaner electrocuted at work. Whilst safer than ladders Ionic believes that waterfed poles should be a no-risk alternative. 

Important: A Special Note About the Protector Handle

The bottom section of the pole is the only section that is double insulated, giving protection up to 1000 volts. If the operator uses it in proximity of a higher voltage, there is a risk of it jumping from the carbon sections and electrocuting the operator. It is absolutely essential that the operator or supervisor does a risk assessment prior to undertaking work using this pole. In areas of greater electrocution risk we recommend using a fully fiber glass pole up to 30ft.

When you opt for the Vertigo™️ quick release head, you have the ability to transform your Hydra™️ into a multi purpose tool. With the Moerman adapter you can fit a range of Moerman hand tools to the Vertigo™️ Q/R head, including squeegees, t-bars, scrapers etc. The Vertigo™️ quick release spray nozzle is perfect for rinsing, and allows the application of a foam cleaner when combined with Ionic’s Constant Flow™️ automatic pump system.

Hydra™️ is a tubeless pole, making it neat and tidy when storing in your van. The pole hose, known as a fly lead, is stored on your hose reel when not in use. Choosing the correct fly lead for your Hydra™️ is dependent on how it is going to be used. For example, if you have one 32ft Hydra™️ then you will require a 16 meter fly lead. But if you have multiple size poles then you only need to have a fly lead to fit your longest pole, so if you had a 32ft and a 55ft Hydra, a 22 meter fly lead would cover both poles. *If you have more than one operator then a fly lead per hose reel will be required.

Please Note: This product listing is for the Vertigo™️ standard style configuration for the new Hydra Waterfed poles.

*Each pole requires one fly lead, purchased separately. 

You'll need to choose pole length, pole construction (material) and size brush. All Vertigo™️ poles come standard with a water fed angle crank which is adjustable. The water flows through the angle crank, preventing any exposed tubing outside the pole.

Brushes are commercial grade and available in 14 in. and 18 in. sizes with Rinse Bar and Pencil Jets as standard.

There are three small options available not listed in the drop-down menu. You can optionally substitute Fan Jets (instead of Pencil Jets). Also you can choose a Flocked Brush if you intend on cleaning cladding or delicate surface cleaning. Lastly you can choose a Lightweight Brush (less bristles to lighten overall head weight).

Weight Savings

The first thing you notice about the Hydra™️ pole is just how light it is. Ionic has really focused on weight reduction and have reduced the wall thickness of every pole section, resulting in significant weight savings and maintained rigidity. Narrow handles provide a more comfortable grip. In order to achieve Ionic's lightest ever pole, every component came under scrutiny, with weight savings being made on nearly every part, from clamps to levers.

One Finger Operation Clamps

The second thing you notice are the next generation clamps on the Hydra™️ pole, with slick one finger operation and adjustment these clamps feature patent pending spring assisted release to reduce tube section wear. In addition, the clamps are carefully crafted to ensure tight closure time after time,  year after year.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Portage™️ is the perfect solution for a safe, de-mountable pure water window cleaning filtration system. Designed for professional window cleaners, this system easily slides in-and-out of your van or truck in a couple of minutes thus freeing up your vehicle for other needs.

This low-profile tank is available in:

• 105 gallons (400 liter)
• 211 gallons (800 liter)

Simply undo the battery quick connector, remove the mounting pin and the tank can be portaged out of your van and stored until needed for the next days work.

Configurations

Portage™ is available in a number of different specifications. The following two configurations suit the North American market.

Portage Delivery- Designed as a pure water delivery system (only) for quick pure water filling from a static water treatment system. Does not have any filtration features, simply designed for delivery with tank and pump.

Portage Fusion- Designed as a high-performance, fully automatic five-stage RO/DI system with 240vv mains powered boosted fill, PFS™️, ROMS™️, & PDI™️ are all standard features. (Pure water production up to 3 liters per minute dependent on mains water supply)

Ergonomic Design

The ergonomic design provides easy access to controls for easy operation and to the filter system for ease of maintenance. We’ve incorporated a handy tool tray for water fed poles, window cleaning tools and drinks cans.

The 211 gallon tank has mounting points for the optional multi-position stainless steel hose reels. These are positioned for easy access via the side loading doors.

Unlike other flat tank systems, the underside of the Portage™ tank has been carefully designed to ensure that 100% of tank capacity runs to the 12v delivery pumps. So unless you’re parked on a steep incline you’ll be able to use every drop of the tanks water capacity even when the water level is low.

Built with Safety In Mind

Window cleaner safety has always been our highest priority. The Portage™ design was inspired after re-watching hours of crash test footage from our 2003 Thatcham crash test program. The lifting forces generated during a certain phase of a head on crash are considerable. For that reason most of the clamping on our other FMVSS-208 tested designs can be found at the rear of the framework. In a head on crash with Portage™ fitted in a van the absence of clamps at the rear of the tank allows the tank to lift and be arrested by the roof of the van instead. The dimensions of the tank and the FMVSS-208 brackets that fix the tank securely to the chassis at the front combine to prevent the heavy water filled tank from colliding with the driver and passenger seats to avoid fatal crush injuries. The benefit of this design is that whilst security is maintained the tank can be removed in minutes leaving the vehicle free for other uses.

Mounting in a Pickup Truck-

A fitting kit is not required for Portage™ tanks that are carried in pickup vehicles. It is however recommended that Portage™ tanks that completely fill the load space are selected. Although it is not a requirement, it is also recommended that Portage™ tanks are secured with ‘tie-down’ straps when transported in pickup type vehicles. If tie-down straps are not used then it is recommended to use wooden blocks to prevent lateral and front to back movement of the tank

Mounting in a Van or on a flatbed trailer-

It must be understood that in the event of a head-on collision an unsecured heavy load need only move the driver and passenger seats forward a small distance for the pre-tensioned seat belts to cause fatal compression injuries. For this reason a Portage™ fitting kit must be installed by a competent person in all vans even when a bulkhead is present. In the event of a head on collision the fitting kits resists the forward movement of the Portage™ tank. The fitting instructions must be followed in every detail.

12 Volt Connection-

Bearing in mind the demountable nature of the Portage™ tank system, the standard 12v connection is made by means of a quick connect fly-lead that plugs into the cigarette lighter. For more permanent installations are intended other more robust 12v power sources with split charging and quick connections are available as optional extras.

*SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT HOSE REEL MOUNTING

The 211 gallon (800L) size Portage is designed with a top cover (with storage compartments) and has enough room to mount two hose reels towards the back of the unit.

Because the 105 gallon (400L) size Portage is shorter it does not have the same room to accommodate the hose reels so we have designed an optional custom size cover that has the ability to mount hose reels. This is an optional item, sold separately. Please ask your Clean Direct Rep for details.
